How did you find your way to Affari?

I studied at Sheffield Hallam University where I did a masters in Graphic Design. After graduating, I had a short stay at an agency in Sheffield but then found the job for Affari online and joined a few weeks later.

What are the three best things about yourself?

Top of the list has to be the fact that I’m from Sheffield. Having moved to Nottingham, I’m finding it difficult living and working in an environment where a bread cake is referred to as a cob, it’s against everything that I stand for.

Another one of the best things about me is my taste in music. Whilst metal still features heavily across my playlists, I’ve got a huge appreciation for most genres of music. I’m known for throwing a few curveballs at the office playlist.

Finally, I can make a pretty amazing steak sandwich.

What’s one of your best experiences?

Whilst on holiday in Tenerife, I drove an off-road buggy up Mount Teide (its summit is the highest point across all of Spain). Driving up the winding mountain roads was an amazing experience until the buggy broke down. Me and my girlfriend were stuck for 4 hours, 12,000ft up a mountain without a drink and only a Spanish tour guide for company. It was a scary experience but looking back, we got to see some amazing sights from the heights of Tenerife.

What other interests do you have other than Affari?

I’ve recently started snowboarding lessons. I’ve got another session to go before I reach recreational standard but I’m hoping to go on a snowboarding holiday later this year.

Keeping on the theme of extreme sports I’m also really into playing darts. I haven’t played in a while but I used to play for a pub team when I was younger, bizarre right? (that doesn’t mean I was any good). Can we have a board in the office please Craig?

What’s your favourite quote and why?

Isiah Berlin, a Russian-British philosopher has a quote that really resonates with me – “Liberty for wolves is death to the lambs”. There are a few variations of this and whilst I’m not going to pretend that I understand the deep political relevance behind it but I think it’s a comment that speaks largely about people in general.

What’s #1 on your bucket list?

Number one on my bucket list is to see the Northern Lights. It would be great to experience in person as it looks amazing and pictures/videos don’t do justice.

If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

A chameleon, so I can blend into the background or be as bright as I want to be.

What’s your favourite film and why?

A film which needs no introduction is Goodfellas. If you don’t know about it or haven’t watched it, do it!

If you had the chance to use a time machine, where would you travel to?

I’d probably visit few hundred years into the future. I’d like to see how technology has developed and what’s new, especially as I’ll never get the opportunity in my lifetime get to see how advanced technology is going to become.
