Meet Jade Tang; Affari’s Junior Graphic Designer. From saving her beloved pooch, Peanut, to waking up in the middle of nowhere, get to know Jade on a personal level!

How did you find your way to Affari?

So, I attended university in London to study Fashion Photography and Styling and it wasn’t until after university that I got into Graphic Design. After freelancing for a couple of years, I made the decision that I wanted to be in a studio around other creative people and have more stable work. It happened very quickly, I did the basic job search and came across Affari’s opening – within less than a week I was here!

What are the three best things about yourself?

1 – I am always either honest… or quiet! Either way I’ll never bullsh*t you.
2 – I have been told I am very thoughtful by those close to me.
3 – I am extremely efficient, whether it’s planning a trip or putting together furniture, I will get things done the best and quickest way!

What’s one of your best experiences?

Rescuing my dog Peanut from a slaughter house in Vietnam, living abroad and watching him grow to become healthy and happy. That whole period of my life was very special.

What other interests do you have other than Affari?

Animal welfare, Art, Interiors, Food, Travelling and Beautiful Scenery, Love!

What’s your favourite quote and why?

“Everything will be alright in the end, if it’s not alright, it’s not the end.” – it’s my favourite because it is what it is. It just keeps you going!

What’s #1 on your bucket list?

To see a Rhino in the wild. I find it unbelievable and unacceptable that in this day and age we have allowed any extinction of species to occur. There are many critically endangered species, but the rhino in particular strikes a nerve with me.

What’s one of the most surreal moments you’ve experienced?

On a euro road trip with my one of my best friends, whilst attempting an overnight drive between Vienna and Antibes (750miles!) we were driving in complete submerged darkness and eventually got too tired so we decided to pull over and get some sleep. We had no idea where we were. When we woke up we got a beautiful surprise, we were surrounded by mountains! It was stunning and definitely surreal as it was not what you expect to see when opening your eyes from a rough snooze on the steering wheel.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

It’s a tough call between ending all animal cruelty – industrial farming, poaching, game hunting, animal trafficking, animal testing, animal tourism, you name it, I want it to stop! Or to reduce/eliminate plastic waste.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

I have always been ‘lovingly’ compared to a Giraffe due to my lanky stature.
