Meet Sheanne Hogarth; Junior Project Manager and Founder of The Affari Book Club! Sheanne is one of the latest apprentices to join Affari and loves to spread her positivity across the company with her ‘Happy Fridays’. From having lunch with Howard Jones to standing in Tutankhamun’s tomb, get to know Sheanne on a personal level!

How did you find your way to Affari?

So I’m Nottingham born and bred! I attended Nottingham Trent University, where I got my degree in forensic psychology! With my degree, I decided to not pursue a career, but instead keep it as a passion, as I didn’t want to take it too seriously.

I decided the next step was to look for a job… shocker – I was unsure where and ended up staying in Nottingham. But, it was the best decision I’ve ever made, as I met my now fiancé, Michael!

As for finding my way to Affari, I worked in compliance for a year and then when my contract was up, my colleague recommended applying here and the rest is history!

What are the three best things about you?

1 – My sense of humour! One example are my cats, who are called Pants and Socks! I walk them around the garden on their leads… which always gets a good laugh from the neighbours!
2 – I’m kind hearted, I would do anything for anybody.
3 – The third would be that I’m very family orientated. The best thing about myself would be my family, especially my step son.

What’s one of your best experiences?

I have two! But they were both to celebrate my 21st birthday, so I guess that counts as one.

Part one was when my dad took me to see my favourite artist, Howard Jones. When we arrived, it ended up being a VIP event, we actually wound up going to his house to see his studio and even had afternoon tea! It was incredible and extremely personal.

The second part was when my mum took me to Luxor and Cairo, Egypt. We went from the Valley of the Kings, where I was able to stand in Tutankhamun’s tomb, to the Cairo Museum and saw King Tutankhamun’s gold mask, the whole experience left me speechless!

What other interests do you have other than Affari?

Well I am the proud founder of The Affari Book Club – I love to read literally anything! Alongside reading, I love literature and going to the theatre. I’ve actually performed in several showcases myself!

However, my biggest interest outside of work is my step son, he allows me to be a kid again!

What’s your favourite quote and why?

“Treat people how you want to be treated” – my dad brought me up as a single parent for the majority of my life and he’s always inbuilt those words into me, because if everyone lived by this mantra, the world would be a better place!

What’s #1 on your bucket list?

This is a tough question! But, I’d love to travel more and see the world.

If you were a biscuit, what would you be and why?

Anyone from the Engagement Team knows I love my biscuits… But, I’d be a Jaffa Cake, because is it a biscuit? Or is it a cake? I’m slightly controversial at times, but also soft, just like a Jaffa!

If someone wrote a biography about you, what would the title be?

“When the going gets tough, the tough gets going…” Because I never give up!

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Close minded people! I think even if you are having a bad day, being close minded is the worst thing you could do – for yourself and others.
