Senior 2D Motion Graphic Designer

We’re looking for a passionate, seasoned and devoted person who is excited by the art of the possible within video with excellent visual storytelling skills to join our talented team of designers. You’ll be ambitious, keen to work collaboratively with a team of creatives and committed to developing your animation and illustration skills.

As a Senior 2D Motion Designer, you would be responsible for developing creative for clients and internal audiences. Your involvement is critical in all phases of the motion design process, particularly concept development, storyboarding, animation and production. You will work closely alongside our Technical Lead and Project Managers whilst assisting and managing existing Motion Designers. You will also work with directors, assisting them in innovating, leading and managing, our motion offering.

Software knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe applications and fluent in After Effects CC
  • Strong vector design skills in Adobe Illustrator
  • Creating client facing documents in Adobe InDesign
  • Building and working with 2D character rigs
  • Editing video within Premiere Pro
  • Audio editing in Adobe Audition not essential but desirable
  • Experience in Cinema 4D not essential but desirable
Responsibilities include:
Design/Creative Responsibilities
  • Working closely with our creatives to design and build compelling high-quality animations, video productions and immersive experiences
  • Meticulous QA and review of final output before presenting to the Creative Lead for client send-off
  • Managing and leading projects from brief to delivery, delegating where necessary whilst ensuring the Creative Lead/Project Lead is kept informed of the status of projects
  • Utilising conceptual and design skills to bring ideas to life and define an artistic direction
  • Shaping the details of projects by providing cutting-edge techniques and technologies
Interpersonal Responsibilities
  • Working with the wider team and Technical Lead to innovate the Motion department
  • Confidently pitching ideas to clients during calls/workshops
  • Defining timescales and project milestones
  • Being involved in and potentially leading ideation sessions with the rest of the team (storyboarding/workshops)
  • Training Motion Designers in production best practices
General Responsibilities
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring projects are delivered on time
  • Being observant of the needs and behaviours of staff members both within the Motion team and the wider company
  • Staying current with production tools and technological advancements
  • Assisting in any HR related matters
