Positively impacting business through design
Nottingham Trent University wanted to communicate the benefits NTU design graduates can bring to small and medium enterprises. In a bid to engage this target audience with relevant content, we worked closely with NTU to create a case study video which told the stories of 3 SME’s and how their graduates had positively impacted their businesses, through design.

Pre-Production
Process: Scripting, Shot-list, Direction & Filming.
At first, we collectively came together to construct the key themes and topics that NTU wished to portray through this video. We provided support on the script and compiled a detailed shot-list that mapped out how the video would progress through each business’s story. We then visited the business locations to film footage of the different business environments that we could include in the final video, including some overhead drone footage of buildings and landscapes!

Production
Process: Direction & Piece-to-Camera.
We captured the main interview pieces over the course of a day, this involved sourcing the best locations in which to film the speakers. During this process, we also filmed additional ‘B-roll’ footage of the case study participants working in their own environments.

Post-Production
Process: Editing (video & audio), compositing, motion design, rendering.
Once the overall composition of the video was approved by NTU, we began the editing process, which involved adding in elements such as the ‘lower thirds’ and text call-outs. We also ensured the audio was consistent throughout and added a subtle background music track.
